Application Deadline
- Applications must be received by June 1, 2026, to ensure course confirmation and avoid cancellations.
- Applications submitted after June 1st will incur a $50 late registration fee.
- Space permitting, applications will be accepted until the start of class. However, enrollment is limited for some courses.
- If a course is full before an application is received, the applicant will be placed on a waiting list and notified if space becomes available.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
The Summer Session reserves the right to cancel a course due to low enrollment, in which case students will receive a full refund of their enrollment fee.
Withdrawing from a course
- To withdraw, students must email the Summer Session office at summerepi@umich.edu by 4:00 PM on July 1, 2026 with a reason for cancellation.
- The $60 application fee is non-refundable.
- Refunds will be processed within 30 days after the program ends (July 31, 2026).
- No tuition refunds will be processed for cancellations after July 1, 2025.

Payment Information
Full tuition payment must be submitted or postmarked by June 15, 2026. Payments made after June 15th will incur a $50 late payment fee. Purchase orders are not accepted for tuition. Advance payment of fees will expedite registration procedures.

Non-Credit Course Information
- Non-credit registrants are expected to fully participate in class activities (e.g., exercises, assignments, discussions).
- However, they are not required to complete a final exam or project for grading.
- No official grade will be assigned.
Graduate Course Credit Information
- Course content, homework, participation, and grading requirements are reviewed by the Advisory Committee on Academic Programs of the School of Public Health.
- Credits earned are valid for various U-M academic programs. However, acceptance of these credits at other institutions depends on their individual policies.
Grading for Graduate Credit
- The Summer Session adheres to the University of Michigan School of Public Health’s grading policies.
- Instructors will provide specific grading requirements (e.g., assignments, exams, presentations) in the course syllabus, including clear deadlines and grading criteria.
